Erik Lamela is being assessed to determine whether he will be available for Tottenham Hotspur’s Champions League clash with RB Leipzig on Wednesday.
There is simply no downplaying the importance of the contest as the impressive Bundesliga side visit the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for the first leg of their last-16 clash.
Heung-min Son has already been ruled out for Spurs having suffered a fractured arm against Aston Villa at the weekend, while Juan Foyth, Harry Kane and Moussa Sissoko are also still unavailable.
Lamela missed Sunday’s clash with Villa due to a thigh issue, and it is not certain that the Argentine will be available for Wednesday night’s clash.

A number of the fans, though, are hopeful that the attacker will make it.
Others, though, took the opportunity to have a pop at the South American, who also missed a chunk of matches earlier this season with a hamstring problem, with some even comparing him to Spurs’ famous “Sicknote” Darren Anderton.
One supporter even went as far as to say that the attacker would not be missed at all if he was not available, branding him “hopeless at best”.

Lamela’s record this season is not exactly terrific, contributing four goals and four assists in 22 appearances, but it would be a boost for Spurs if he were available considering that Son has joined the injury list ahead of kickoff.
