Gordon has enjoyed an impressive season with Newcastle, scoring 10 goals and contributing eight assists in the Premier League this season. His form has seen him called into the England squad and in with a realistic chance of being part of Gareth Southgate's final squad for Euro 2024. Of course, there is plenty of competition for places in the Three Lions attack, but Gordon thinks he has one key quality that gives him the edge over some of his rivals.

He told The Overlap: "I think versatility in a tournament is massive. The likes of Phil Foden, Marcus Rashford and Jack Grealish can play across the front line and in midfield, but I feel that I’ve done it a lot this season especially in big games, and I think that matters. I’ve played out of position in big games and done well, so I think that matters.

‌"Playing as a centre forward or as a right-winger is out of position for me because the left is probably my main position. I’ve played number 10 at times, and I’ve proven in big games that no matter where I play, I can still perform, and having that trust from the manager and the players around me, which I think is the most important thing."

Gordon was also asked about which three people he'd like to invite to a dream dinner party and admitted Donald Trump would be on his guestlist.

"I'd go (Diego) Maradona, I would go Donald Trump, I'd love to meet him and see how he is – like he's so bizarre as a person, and I just want to sit down with him," he added. "And Ricky Gervais. Ricky Gervais is a big one, I don't know why I haven't put him first, I absolutely love him, he's so funny."
